Hey girl hey!
You know when you just begin to feel like you are getting sick? On the verge as they say. You might have a tinge in your throat or feel a little sluggish. Maybe you feel congested or have a heaviness in your chest when you cough?
You know the feeling.
It sucks knowing that there is a good chance you are going to wake up tomorrow and feel even worse. I hate that.
But what if I told you that in the last 7 years I have never moved passed being on the verge to getting full blown sick…, would you believe me?
(Also ignore my crappy manicure. I know I am due)
With fall finally here (I mean it was 100F last week in LA wtf) but today its raining and winter on the way, I felt like it was time for me to share one of my tried and true tips for not getting sick.
Its natural, does not have harmful side effects and its cheaper then most perscription drugs.
Being sick sucks. I mean like it literally blows. I would much rather feel great and go to work then stay home and feel like absolutley shit. Any one else?
So, what if I told you there is a safe, natural way to avoid getting sick without a trip to the pharmacy? You’d be interested, right?
We all know that doctors like to perscripe antibiotics to combat a slew of things. But antibiotics have side effects like messing up your healthy gut bacteria, weakening the gut lining leading to leaky gut, creating antibiotic resistance and reducing vitamin absoption.
They just are not that great all of the time.
Insert Oil of Oregano
Oil of oregano contains two powerful compounds of carvacrol and thymol that have powerful anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. It is essentially an antibiotic, but a natural one and it works. Its also a stimulant for our immune system so it increases our bodies natural ability to fight off invaders. There are HUNDREDS of studies in PubMed about its efficacy.
I kid you not, I have legit not had a serious cold or flu in 7 years.
Of course my diet absolutely plays a role, and I go out of my way to support my micro biome and gut bugs but Oil of Oregano has literally saved my life time and time again. Its not that I don’t ever feel like I am about to get sick, I am not a super human but it has prevented me from getting full on bed ridden sick. Like I haven’t taken a sick day because I have actually been sick. If you get my drift.
Plus, it has so many other potential benefits like combating candida, decreasing inflammation and allergies.
This one by Natural Factors is the one I have been using. You can buy it at Whole Foods or on Amazon. It lasts a long time so don’t let the price tag get in the way. Plus your health and time is so so valuable. Spending time sick in bed majorly blows and is not fun.
There is nothing fun about feeling like crap.
Being sick is the worst so I am so excited to share this product with you. Its not sponsored or anything, it is truly what I use and what has worked for me. And it might work for you too!
What an embarrasing photo right? I had to publish it. Just felt like the right thing to do. Anyways….
How I use it
Upon the very first feeling that I might be getting sick thats when I put a few drops under my tongue.
The second I start to feel like something is coming on, day one, I get on it!
And it has not failed me yet.
I use 5-6 drops at a time then drink a big glass of water (stuff tastes super nasty), and will use it until I no longer feel like I am on the verge of getting sick.
Sometimes I only have to use it one day and sometimes I use it 3 or 4 days in a row. Just depends but I have yet to have anything turn into a major cold. It really is awesome because I used to get sick all the time.
I can not speak to its efficacy if you take it when you are already sick though. I only have experience with it working right at the very very beginning. And its always worked like magic.
True Story: I would keep a bottle at my restaurant and told my employees the second they started to feel sick to take it. And guess what? I never had an employee take a day of work because they were sick. Hungover on the other hand… well thats a different story LOL.
