IF YOU'VE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT SOMETHING YOU CAN'T CHANGE FOR A WHILE....READ THIS.

I just got off a coaching call with a client and we talked about how being resistant to a circumstance in your life that you are unable to change creates a lot of suffering.

When you believe that something should be another way than it is you're often left with feelings of frustration, resentment, anger, sadness, grief, and so on.

There are some exceptions, of course, but often it's not actually the circumstance itself that causes your suffering, but rather your attachment to the belief that "it shouldn't be this way", that does.

It's your relationship to the circumstance, not the circumstance.

When you're attached to how you think it "should be", you are playing the victim to what is. You feel justified in how you are feeling...in the ego's attachment to "it shouldn't be this way".

When you believe that this circumstance is happening TO you, you are unwilling to accept reality as it is, and it takes a lot of energy to be in resistance to reality.

You're going to struggle and experience internal suffering when you believe that the circumstance has to change in order for you to feel different...this is not taking responsbility for yourself.

To stop resisting reality and playing the victim, ask yourself "how is this circumstance happening FOR me?"

What's another way I could look at this, what's another perspective?

How can I shift how I am relating to this circumstance if I am unable to change the circumstance?

There lies personal power and freedom.
